INTEGRATED HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT PROGRAMME
“Ny Tanintsika”, Feedback's local partner NGO, has secured
funding for a new project, involving integrated health – environment activities
in the communes of Ambohimahamasina (Ambalavao) and Ambolomadinika (Ikongo).
Health and environmental messages are integrated in activities so as to make
villagers aware of the links between the two subjects, and therefore more convinced
to take positive action. For example, it is difficult to teach about nutrition
when food crops are very limited, and the subject of clean drinking water cannot
separated from the need to protect the forest and to implement erosion-prevention
measures.
Specific activities include:
- Community trainings on health and environment (disease prevention, sanitation,
hygiene, etc.)

- Awareness raising and discussion about health and environment-related
issues through the creation of films and video showings (on a large screen)
in accessible target villages, animated by our field-staff.
- The promotion of, and assistance with, latrine construction
